Each room also offers a private balcony or terrace furnished with a daybed for relaxing. The Master Suite is positioned next to a relaxing water cascade and includes a living area with a segmented sofa and a desk. The ensuite bathroom, with its eight-jet Jacuzzi tub, leads into a private walled garden area featuring a rainshower sheltered under a pergola roof.

» Living & Dining Room
The open plan Living & Dining Room is characterised by glass doors on every side, which can be open for a true tropical living experience, or alternatively closed for air-conditioned comfort. It is also fitted with ceiling fans. This expansive room presents a comfortable sitting area at one end with a sofa, two chairs, an ottoman and a coffee table. In the centre is the dining area with a two tone wooden table and eight comfy dining chairs as well as three stools for kids. There is a washroom to one side, while the feature open plan kitchen is incorporated at the far end. Ponds flow around this room, and one set of doors opens onto a shallow 20 cm Clearwater pool, lined with green Java stone. Two chairs and a small table rest in this pond, making it a great place to sit while keeping your feet cool. The staff can also place a dining table and chairs in here to create a unique dining experience. The water flows via a waterfall directly into the swimming pool in the garden below.

» Sitting Room
The upstairs Sitting Room is located on the top floor in the heart of the villa, with fabulous 360 degree views. The room is very light and airy with glass doors and windows that open to allow the sound of the surf and the cool breezes to permeate. The room is furnished with a sofa, chairs, and a chaise longue covered in cream and dark orange printed fabrics. One corner presents another cosy chair, making this a delightful spot for reading. Guests also have the choice of air-conditioned comfort and the provision of a 42” TV and DVD player with a Sony surround sound system. A guest washroom is located off this sitting room.

FACILITIES
» Gardens & Pool
The 15 x 3 metre, elbow-shaped swimming pool is positioned on the lowest level and flanked by a sundeck furnished with classy sun loungers and umbrellas. The shallow end of the pool is perfect for young kids as they can safely play here. The adjacent pool deck is also ideal for children as it is shaded by the roof of the pool lounge and therefore protects children from the harmful rays of the sun. As an adult you will also enjoy this end of the pool, because it is designed so that you can lie down and massage your back on the whirlpool jets under the waterfall without worrying about the dangers of sunburn. There is a pool shower and a guest washroom, as well as a poolside lounge and bar. Next to this is a flat lawn ideal for parties and small weddings with up to 50 guests.

» The Kitchen
The modern feature kitchen is open plan and incorporated at one end of the spacious living and dining area. It is fully equipped with a five-hob gas cooker, a ‘La Germania’ oven and hood, a large double door fridge, and a black polished granite worktop flanked by a long glass window, which maximises the light and the valley view. There is a central island with an eating bar complemented by three low stools.

» Poolside Lounge & Bar
The very spacious Poolside Lounge is sheltered by a roof and open at the front, leading directly into the pool. The floor is sensibly fashioned from nonslip tumbled marble, and the lounge is furnished with an L-shaped sofa and a huge 3 x 3 metre daybed. A wall mirror doubles the feeling of space. There is also a 32” TV and a polished black granite bar, making this a very pleasant hangout to enjoy a refreshing drink or sunset cocktail. There is also an alfresco dining table for four, and a surround sound system.

» Rooftop Terrace
The rooftop terrace is open to the sky and is a particularly beautiful place to be on a starlit or moonlit night. It features an interlocking mosaic floor created from tumble-washed marble, and is furnished with a sofa, chairs, ottomans and a coffee table made from all-weather rattan and Sunbrella fabric. During the day, this sunny terrace is a great lookout spot for watching surfing, butterflies, kingfishers and monkeys in the wooded valley below.

» Entertainment Terrace
A spacious terrace on the same level as the main entrance to the villa features a Palimanan stone floor and synthetic rattan furniture. Open to the sky, this is a great area for parties and entertainment.

LOCATION
Moonlight Villa is located on the most southwesterly tip of the beautiful area known as The Bukit – a limestone plateau rising sharply from the sea, fringed by steep cliffs and some of the most idyllic beaches in Bali. Characterized by wide open spaces and clear blue skies, the turquoise waters are the playground of migrating whales. A tropical, equatorial climate means year-round balmy temperatures and, even in the rainy season, The Bukit – which is much drier than the rest of the island – is a reliable sun-trap. When the southeast trade winds blow offshore and the southern ocean swells hit the reefs, the barreling surf breaks are among the best in the world. The only other activity along the coastline is seaweed farming, still traditionally practiced by the original Balinese coastal families.

Moonlight Villa is only 30 minutes’ drive from Bali’s International Airport and no more than 45 minutes’ from the endless shopping, vibrant nightlife and international restaurants of Kuta and Seminyak. The world-class Bali Golf and Country Club in Nusa Dua is a 25 minutes’ drive, while the 18-hole, championship, New Kuta Golf Course at Pecatu is a mere 10 minutes’ drive. This covers 85 hectares above Dreamland Beach, and was designed by Ronald Fream. Its signature hole, no. 15, commands splendid views. Ubud – Bali’s centre for fine arts and cultural performances – is about 90 minutes’ drive to the north. The remainder of the island offers a rich mosaic of cultures, tastes, sights and sounds, together with a wide array of activities, including tennis, horseback riding, dive schools, sailing cruises and much more.
